Quick answer

Iloilo City is the heritage and food capital of Western Visayas, named a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Top things to do: eat La Paz batchoy at its birthplace, La Paz Market; see Molo Church, “the feminist church” with its female saints; walk Calle Real and the Iloilo River Esplanade; and take day trips to Miagao Church (UNESCO), Guimaras and the Islas de Gigantes. Fly into Iloilo International Airport, about 30–45 minutes from the city. The big festival is Dinagyang, on the fourth Sunday of January (January 24 in 2027). Spend 3–4 days.

See Iloilo and Guimaras in one day, with mango pizza and pancit molo along the way.
