Things to do at Amaya View

1

Noah’s Ark and the mini zoo

Family favorite

Amaya View’s best-known landmark is a giant, modern take on the biblical ark. It houses a mini zoo, and kids especially love it. It’s also one of the tallest structures in Cagayan de Oro, so the views from the top are excellent.

Good to know: some visitor reviews have raised concerns about the conditions of certain animal enclosures. Animal lovers may want to read recent reviews before going.

2

The Aviary

Family favorite

Next to the ark, the walk-through aviary lets you see a variety of birds up close. It’s a quick, easy stop that suits younger kids.

3

Skye Walk glass hanging bridge

Thrill

The Skye Walk is a long hanging bridge with glass panels that crosses over to Noah’s Ark. It’s one of the most photographed spots in the park and a good test of nerves if you’re not a fan of heights.

4

Larry’s Hill Adventure Hub

Thrill

Larry’s Hill is Amaya View’s adventure zone, with high and low ropes courses, a climbing wall and zipline, plus a play park and ball pit for younger kids. Some activities are paid separately.

Good to know: wear closed shoes and comfortable clothes if you plan to try the ropes course.

5

Paragliding over Cagayan de Oro

Thrill

Amaya View is the main paragliding hub of Mindanao and the home base of the Northern Mindanao Paragliding Club. Tandem flights launch from the hill and give you a bird’s-eye view of the city and Macajalar Bay.

Good to know: flights depend on wind and weather and cost extra. A recent visitor reported paying about ₱3,500.

6

Azul Infinity Pool

Views

The infinity pool looks straight out over Cagayan de Oro, with a café bar nearby for drinks and snacks. It’s free for overnight guests and charged separately for day visitors.

7

The Vineyard and the Rock Chapel

Views

The Vineyard is a garden walk with sweeping views over the city, and the Rock Chapel is a small chapel popular for photos and quiet moments. Both are easy, relaxing stops between the bigger attractions.

8

Feed the Koi and the gardens

Tips for visiting Amaya View

  • Go in the late afternoon to catch the sunset and then the city lights coming on.
  • Visit on a weekday if you can. Weekends and holidays get busy with local families.
  • Bring sun protection. The hilltop is exposed, and there’s a lot of walking between attractions.
  • Check for closures. Attractions are sometimes closed for maintenance, and paragliding depends on the weather.
  • Plan meals. Food on-site costs more than in the city, so budget for it or eat before you head up.
